Our Name

‘Vaayu’ is the Sanskrit word for ‘Air’ and its origin extends to other derivations — atmosphere, weather, breeze, gas, wind and the Sanskrit word ‘Jalvaayu’, meaning climate. Our name is reflective of our environmental impact and carbon software solution and our work to protect the natural environment surrounding the Earth and those that exist within it.

Our Founders

Namrata Sandhu, CEO & Co-Founder

Namrata Sandhu is the CEO and Co-Founder of Vaayu. Her 20 year career has spanned the Arcadia Group and leading global retailer Zalando, causing her to find a critical gap in the market for a real-time, carbon-tracking tool to speed up reduction at scale.

Luca Schmid, CTO & Co-Founder

Luca Schmid is the CTO and Co-Founder of Vaayu. Luca is a Full-Stack Developer with a decade of experience. Self-taught, he is fluent in over 10 programming languages and holds specialist expertise in Data Science.
